2. Oftentimes, we bless the LORD because:
a) Our prayers are answered
b) Special blessings have been obtained
3. This is good and right

b) The LORD’s Name should be blessed when we understand His works
BLESSING THE LORD
1. A personal practice
“Bless the LORD, O my soul” Psalm 104:1a
2. But the focus is Not personal blessing
As in Psalm 103:1-5
A FRESH SENSE OF APPRECIATION OF GOD FOR WHO HE IS
1. Appreciating the greatness of God
“O LORD my God, You are very great” Psalm 104:1b
a) He is clothed with honour and majesty
b) He is covered with “light” Psalm 104:1-2
2. Appreciating God as Creator
a) He made the heavens, the sun, the moon Psalm 104:2b, 19-23
b) He made the angels Psalm 104:4
c) He laid the foundations of the earth Psalm 104:5
d) He made the earth and all living things Psalm 104:5-30
3. Appreciating God as the Sustainer of Life
a) All seek food from God Psalm 104:21
b) All wait upon the Lord Psalm 104:27
BLESSING THE LORD IN PRAISE
1. For His manifold works
O LORD, how manifold are Your works! Psalm 104:24a
2. For His profound wisdom
In wisdom You have made them all Psalm 104:24b
BLESSING THE LORD IN PRAYER
1. The glory of God
May the glory of the LORD endure forever! Psalm 104:31a
2. Rejoicing of God
May He rejoice in His works! Psalm 104:31b
3. Our Meditation (Thoughts)
May my meditation be sweet to Him! Psalm 104:34a
4. Judgment of the wicked
May sinners be consumed from the earth,
And the wicked be no more! Psalm 104:35a
